Security and Privacy
At Laxis, protecting your data is our top priority. We implement industry-leading security measures and comply with major privacy regulations to ensure your information remains safe and private.
Certification
SOC 2 Type 1 Certified
Laxis has achieved SOC 2 Type 1 certification, demonstrating our commitment to security, availability, and confidentiality of customer data.
Security Practices
Data Encryption
All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use HTTPS/TLS for secure data transmission, ensuring your information is protected as it travels between your devices and our servers.
Payment Security
All payment processing is handled through trusted, secure platforms: Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified), Apple App Store, and Google Play Store. Laxis never stores your full credit card information on our servers.
Access Controls
We implement strict access controls and authentication measures to ensure only authorized personnel can access system resources. You can sign in securely with Google, Microsoft, or Apple. Enterprise plans can use SSO/SAML.
Sharing Controls
Meetings are private to you until you share them. You decide who can see each meeting — specific people, a folder, your workspace, or anyone with the link — and workspace admins decide whether new meetings are shared with the workspace by default.
AI Connector (MCP)
When you connect an AI tool such as Claude or ChatGPT through the AI Connector, access is read-only and limited to your own meetings. You sign in with your Laxis account, so there's no long-lived key to leak.
Data Privacy
What We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide our services, including:
- Account information (name, email, profile data)
- Meeting content (recordings, transcripts, notes, reports, highlights, and meeting images)
- Usage data for service improvement and analytics
Voice Keyboard
When you use the Voice Keyboard, audio is sent to Laxis only while you're dictating, to turn it into text. On iPhone and Android, the Laxis keyboard needs Full Access (iPhone) or to be enabled as a keyboard (Android) so it can connect to the internet. It doesn't send the keys you type, with one exception: in Agent mode on iPhone and Android, the text around your cursor (up to 1,000 characters before and after it) is sent with your spoken instruction, so the reply fits what you're writing. Your dictation history is stored on your device, not in the cloud.
Voice Recognition
Speaker Recognition is off by default. When you turn it on and enroll a voice, Laxis creates a voiceprint so it can recognize that person in your meetings. Voiceprints sync across your own devices; the enrollment recordings themselves stay on the device where you made them. Turning Voice Recognition off deletes every enrolled voice on every device.
Data Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in our privacy policy. When you terminate your account, we deactivate or delete your information from our active databases.
Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Opt-out of marketing communications
Delete Your Account
